Trend: Must-have metallics

A couture gown is worth its weight in gold.

And this season, designers have channelled the value of precious metals into priceless gowns that shined all over red carpets. Here are some celebrities who pulled off the metallic trend.

Blake Lively

For the premiere of her husband Ryan Reynolds's new movie, Free Guy, at the AMC Lincoln Square in New York City on Tuesday, Blake pulled out all of the stops in a pink sequin gown from Prabal Gurung. The eye-catching number featured a flowing skirt, cutout detailing, and silver beaded trim. Blake accessorised with Lorraine Schwartz bling, Christian Louboutin heels, and carried a silver star-shaped purse from Judith Leiber. Kristopher Buckle took care of the actress's beauty look, while Rod Ortega created her loose plaited hairstyle.

Ashley Greene

At the Los Angeles debut of horror-mystery flick Aftermath held at The Landmark Westwood, Ashley turned heads in a black BERTA dress. The showstopping number included sheer panelling, feather detailing on the shoulders, and a low back. However, the real star of the ensemble was the black sequin fabric and delicate beading. Ashley was styled by Lo VonRumpf, with Joseph Chase and Jose Corella in charge of her beauty look.

"So excited for the premiere of my film aftermath!! All glammed up for the first time in a long time and loving it," Ashley captioned a snap on Instagram.

Katy Perry

For the Louis Vuitton Foundation Dinner during Paris Fashion Week last month, Katy dazzled in a lilac dress with opalescent sequin overlay from Louis Vuitton. The Firework hitmaker accessorised her look with a small silver handbag, and wore her bright blonde locks in loose curls. Her outfit was styled by Jamie Mizrahi, with the glam squad comprised of Michael Anthony and Jesus Guerrero.
