Donald Trump’s speech at a conservative conference was branded a “January 6th Reunion” on trolling truck billboards driven around outside the event.

The ex-president’s supporters infamously attacked the US Capitol on that date to try and prevent the certification of Joe Biden’s election victory.

Five people, including a Capitol police officer, lost their lives in the violence that unfolded after Mr Trump spoke at a “Stop the Steal” rally before directing his supporters to march on the Capitol.

It also led to Mr Trump being impeached for a historic second time by the House before being acquitted at his trial in the US Senate.

Mr Trump’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Sunday was his first major event since leaving office.

And his opponents were determined to remind everyone about the Capitol riot, with the trucks also carrying a picture of the ex-president in an orange prison jumpsuit.

During his 90-minute speech Mr Trump again claimed that Joe Biden had “lost” the White House and hinted that he may run again in 2024.

Mr Trump also mocked transgender athletes in the speech, and claimed that he deserved total credit for the vaccine rollout in the US.
