Twitter reacts to Coyotes acquiring Taylor Hall from Devils

The New Jersey Devils have dealt former Hart Trophy winner Taylor Hall to the Arizona Coyotes.

Before you ask, no, this wasn’t a one-for-one transaction.

Far from it, actually. The Devils got quite the haul in return for Hall and 22-year-old forward Blake Speers which included the Coyotes’ first-round pick in 2020 (top-three protected), a conditional third-round pick in 2021 and prospects Kevin Bahl, Nate Schnarr and Nick Merkley. New Jersey will also have to pay for half of Hall’s salary.

Although hockey and Devils fans aren’t Adam-Larsson-for-Taylor-Hall mad, they don’t seem to be overly pleased about the return for their star forward.

But, there are some others that are looking at the bright side.

Fans of the Pacific Division-leading Coyotes, on the other hand, seem unanimously in favour of their team’s general manager — John Chayka — adding the former league MVP to the team.

It’ll be interesting to see how Hall and Phil Kessel react when they see each other considering Kessel has thrown unprovoked shade at his new teammate in the past.

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but if there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that three-and-a-half years removed from the original Hall trade, the Edmonton Oilers’ return continues to look even worse.
