Two men charged with bribery over Petrofac contracts, UK court listings show

LONDON (Reuters) -Two men have been charged with bribery in relation to the award of contracts to oilfield services provider Petrofac and are due to appear in a London court on Monday, according to court listings.

Marwan Chedid is charged with three counts of bribery, alleged to have taken place between 2012 and 2018. George Salibi is charged with two counts of bribery.

Petrofac declined to comment.

Both men are listed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, according to court listings published on Thursday.

Chedid and Salibi are alleged on one count between 2012 and 2016 to have offered or given agents a "payment and/or a percentage of the value of any contract awarded to Petrofac" in relation to an oilfield development project in Abu Dhabi.

Both men also face another count of bribery alleging they offered or gave agents a financial advantage in respect to a variation order between 2013 and 2018.

Chedid alone faces a further charge relating to a contract for front end engineering design between 2013 and 2015.

No further details of the alleged offending were given.

Reuters was unable to locate contact details for Chedid and Salibi or their lawyers to seek comment from them.
