Uganda's August coffee exports jump 36 pct yr/yr: regulator

KAMPALA (Reuters) - Uganda's coffee exports in August leapt 36 percent year-on-year to 318,338 60-kg bags thanks to a better-than-normal off-season crop and dry weather conditions which eased transportation in rural areas, an industry regulator source said on Thursday. "The yield from the fly crop in eastern Uganda was above average and, also, since it's been a dry season, transporting stocks from collection centers was much faster," the source at the Uganda Coffee Development Authority told Reuters.
