UK 10-year bond yields hit two-week high after France election
LONDON, April 24 (Reuters) - British 10-year gilt yields
rose to their highest in two weeks as investors sold European
government bonds and put more money into riskier assets after
centrist Emmanuel Macron won the first voting round of France's
presidential election, easing fears of another populist shock.
The 10-year gilt yield rose as high as 1.102
percent in early trading, its highest since April 10. It last
stood at 1.101 percent, up about seven basis points on the day.
The yield spread between 10-year British and
German government bonds stood at around 75 basis
points, little changed from Friday.
