This is the UK beach town everyone wants to visit right now
With summer in full swing, Airbnb has revealed the most desired beach locations for a seaside staycation and a small village in Kent has taken the number one spot.
Sandgate, near Folkestone, has pushed the popular towns of Whitstable and Margate off the must-visit lists to be named the top trending British seaside destination in the UK.
The charming coastal village has seen the biggest rise in Britons searching for holiday homes on Airbnb.
Known for its grand houses, far-stretching views of the English Channel and antique shops, restaurants and inns, Sandgate is also home to a long pebble beach frequented by fishermen and picnickers. If you're not already preparing to check into one of the UK's best seaside hotels this summer, Sandgate's Airbnbs are worth considering.
Other destinations piquing the interest of Britons this summer include resorts in Somerset, Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire.
Ingoldmells in Lincolnshire was named the second most-trending seaside spot, followed by Sandilands in Lincolnshire, Seaburn in County Durham and Portishead in Somerset.
Watchet in Somerset took fifth place, while Saltburn-by-the-Sea in North Yorkshire, Hornsea in East Yorkshire, Cleveleys in Lancashire and Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex also featured in the top ten.
