LONDON (Reuters) - British companies have borrowed more than £60 billion through government-backed COVID-19 financial support programmes as of the start of this week, the finance ministry said on Thursday.

Lending via the three main loan schemes backed by state guarantee totalled 61.9 billion pounds on Oct. 18, up from 57.3 billion pounds a month previously.
