UK GAS-Day-ahead lifted by lower temperatures, wind output
LONDON, May 16 (Reuters) - British gas for day-ahead delivery rose on Wednesday morning as a dip in temperatures and lower forecast wind output increased demand but most of the rest of the curve declined on oversupply
* Day-ahead gas rose by 0.65 pence to 55.65 pence per therm at 0755 GMT
* Local (Stuttgart: 19549987.SG - news) distribution zone consumption is forecast higher at 96 million cubic metres (mcm) due to below normal temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday.
* From Friday, temperatures are forecast to return to warmer-than-normal
* Gas-for-power demand is forecast slightly higher on lower wind production
* Peak wind generation is seen falling to just below 4 gigawatts (GW) on Thursday from 5.7 GW on Wednesday, Elexon data shows
* Flows are forecast at 182 mcm per day and demand at nearly 175 mcm, meaning the system is slightly oversupplied by 7 mcm, National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data shows
* Exports through the InterconnectorUK pipeline to continental Europe have fallen to 18 mcm, Thomson Reuters Eikon data shows
* June gas fell by 0.75 pence to 53.50 p/therm
* Day-ahead gas at the Dutch TTF hub declined by 0.11 euro to 21.27 euros per megawatt hour
* The benchmark Dec (Shanghai: 600875.SS - news) -18 EU carbon contract inched up by 0.01 euro to 14.33 euros a tonne (Reporting by Nina Chestney)
