UK GAS-Day-ahead price down on high Norwegian supply

* Langeled pipeline flows at around 39 mcm/d

* System largely balanced

* Prices along gas curve edge up

LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) - British wholesale gas for next-day delivery fell on Tuesday morning, pressured by higher flows from Norway.

Gas for delivery on Wednesday was trading 0.20 pence lower at 41.90 p/therm at 0809 GMT. Langeled flows surged on Monday afternoon and are currently flowing at 39 million cubic metres (mcm) per day.

"This is a significant level for mid-summer and should be bearish for prompt prices," said Thomson Reuters Point Carbon analyst Oliver Sanderson.

Volumes from Norway through the Vesterled pipeline are also high at 15 mcm.

Temperatures in some parts of Britain are forecast to top 30 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Despite higher Norwegian flows, National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data showed the system to be largely balanced, with demand forecast to be 192.9 mcm and supply at 192.2 mcm/day.

UK domestic supply from the Continental Shelf was lower than on Monday and exports to Europe were higher.

Other prices along the curve edged up. Gas for immediate delivery was 0.10 pence higher at 41.75 p/therm, while gas for July was up 0.07 pence at 42.22 p/therm.

In the Netherlands' gas market, the day-ahead price at the TTF hub was 0.20 percent higher at 20.42 euros per megawatt-hour.

Gas traders in both markets are awaiting a Greek referendum set for July 5 on accepting an EU offer of financial and political reforms.
