UK GAS-Prices decline on warmer weather

LONDON, May 21 (Reuters) - British wholesale gas prices fell on Monday morning as warm weather reduced demand.

* Gas for immediate delivery fell by 0.50 pence to 56.50 pence per therm at 0745 GMT

* June gas was 0.20 pence lower at 55.40 p/therm

* The coming week is expected to be around 3 degrees Celsius warmer than the seasonal average, Thomson Reuters Eikon data shows

* Therefore, heating demand is forecast 18 mcm lower compared to Friday. Consumption is also expected to be substantially below seasonal normal levels for the rest of this month, Thomson Reuters analysts said

* The system was almost balanced with demand forecast at nearly 178 million cubic metres (mcm) and flows at 179 mcm/day, National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data shows

* flows from Norway through the Langeled pipeline are flowing at 41 mcm/day. The pipeline will shut down on May 24 for planned maintenance

* Exports through the InterconnectorUK pipeline to continental Europe are 17 mcm higher than Friday at 34 mcm.

* "A warmer weather outlook in the coming week provides better scope for exports, especially at weekends, and we expect the volumes at around 30 mcm/d," said Katarzyna Piaskowska, Thomson Reuters gas analyst.

* Peak wind generation is expected to fall to 3.2 gigawatts (GW) on Tuesday from 4.0 GW on Monday, according to the Elexon website

* Day-ahead gas at the Dutch TTF hub declined by 0.23 euro to 21.85 euros per megawatt hour

* The benchmark Dec (Shanghai: 600875.SS - news) -18 EU carbon contract was 0.02 euro higher at 15.27 euros a tonne (Reporting by Nina Chestney)
