UK GAS-Prices fall amid lower demand, oversupply
LONDON, April 6 (Reuters) - British wholesale gas prices fell on Friday morning amid lower demand and oversupply.
* Day-ahead gas 0.45 pence lower at 48.75 pence per therm at 0842 GMT
* Within-day gas fell by 1.20 pence to 48.50 p/therm
* Demand is forecast to be 236 million cubic metres (mcm) and flows at 244 mcm/day, according to National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data, leaving the system oversupplied by 8 mcm
* Demand for heating and gas-for-power consumption are both forecast lower on Friday, which has left the system oversupplied
* Sendout of liquefied natural gas is strong with three tankers set for Britain and four more for Belgium and the Netherlands
* Dutch day-ahead gas prices also fell, trading 0.48 euro lower at 18.60 euros per megawatt hour.
* The benchmark Dec (Shanghai: 600875.SS - news) -18 EU carbon contract inched up by 0.04 euro to 12.68 euros a tonne
