UK GAS-Prices fall as heat rises, Dutch day-ahead hits near 10-year low

LONDON, June 21 (Reuters) - British wholesale gas prices fell on Friday as warmer temperatures curbed demand, while Dutch prices hit near 10-year lows as LNG supplies loom.

* British within-day gas price down 0.50 pence at 27.00 pence per therm by 0758 GMT.

* British day-ahead gas price down 0.50 p at 26.50 p/therm.

* Dutch day-ahead gas price down 0.68 euro at 9.55 euros per megawatt hour, having hit a near 10-year low of 9.50 euros per megawatt hour.

* Traders said forecasts for higher temperatures across much of Northern Europe combined with looming supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) into Europe had pressured prices.

* Refinitiv data showed average temperatures in Britain were forecast at 18.4 degrees for Monday, some 5.4 degrees higher than originally forecast.

* Average temperatures in the Netherlands were forecast at 23.4 degrees for Monday, up 7.7 degrees on the previous forecast.

* Nine LNG tankers are scheduled to arrive in Britain and the Netherlands over the next few weeks.

* UK gas system almost balanced with demand forecast at 204.9 million cubic metres (mcm) and flows at 203.4 mcm/day, National Grid data showed.

* Further out on the curve, prices also slipped.

* British July contract down 0.35 p at 25.85 p/therm.

* The month-ahead Dutch contract fell further to 9.88 euros per megawatt hour, from a 10-year low of 10.00 euros hit on Thursday.
