UK GAS-Prices rise on strong demand
LONDON, Oct (Shenzhen: 000069.SZ - news) 30 (Reuters) - British prompt gas prices rose on Monday due to unexpectedly high consumption. * Within-day gas price up 2.8 pence, or 6.36 percent, to 46.80 pence per therm at 1011 GMT. * Day-ahead gas was 0.85 pence higher at 46.60 p/therm. * The gas market was undersupplied by 2.7 million cubic metres (mcm) a day, with demand forecast at around 261 mcm and flows at 258.3 mcm/day, National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data shows. * Local (Stuttgart: 19549987.SG - news) distribution zone demand for gas is pegged at 163 mcm/day, 33 mcm/day above initial estimates, analysts at Thomson Reuters said. * Norwegian deliveries rose by 13 mcm to 95 mcm/day following the end of maintenance at the Ormen Lange processing plant on Saturday (Shenzhen: 002291.SZ - news) . * UK Continental Shelf output was somewhat higher at 154 mcm/day. * November gas traded 0.05 pence higher at 48.20 p/therm.
