UK GAS-Prices slip as mild weather dampens demand, LNG arrives

March 27 (Reuters) - British gas prices slipped on Monday as milder weather weighed on demand in an amply supplied network. * British day-ahead gas price fell by 0.48 pence to 38.10 pence per therm at 0939 GMT. * Within-day contract declined by 1 pence to 38 p/therm. * Although the system opened oversupplied, it moved into balance by late morning with both demand and supply forecast at 240.3 million cubic metres-National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) . * Traders said a combination of mild weather in Britain and across Europe weighed on demand, while fresh LNG tanker arrivals boosted supplies. * Seasonal gas contracts declined; summer 2017 was down by 0.65 pence at 38.25 p/therm, with winter 2017 dealing 0.43 pence lower at 44.87 p/therm. * South Hook LNG import terminal is due to receive the Raseehda tanker, one of the world's biggest, on April 2, according to port authority data. * April gas contract was down by 0.59 pence to 38.16 p/therm. * Day-ahead gas price at the Dutch TTF hub down by 0.13 euro at 14.77 euros per megawatt hour. * Benchmark Dec-17 EU carbon contract down by 0.07 euro to 4.70 euros per tonne. * Thomson Reuters (Dusseldorf: TOC.DU - news) analyst view: http://emea1.apps.cp.extranet.thomsonreuters.biz/cms/?pageid=united-kingdom-gas (Reporting By Oleg Vukmanovic in Milan; Editing by Susan Thomas)
