UK GAS-Prompt prices mostly rise on tighter supply outlook
Sept 7 (Reuters) - British wholesale gas prices mostly rose on Thursday ahead of domestic field and Russian pipeline maintenance which is expected to tighten supply. * Forecasts for colder weather after Sept. 15 and continued low flows from liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals amid a drought of shipments lent further support, traders and analysts said. * Gas for immediate delivery had risen 0.45 pence to 46.30 pence per therm by 0907 GMT. * Day-ahead gas was one of only a few contracts to post a loss, down 0.25 pence at 46 pence per therm. * The system was oversupplied by 7.2 million cubic metres (mcm/day), with demand at 157.3 mcm/day and supply estimated at 164.5 mcm/day, National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data showed. * The system was 12 mcm/day undersupplied earlier this morning. * Total (LSE: 524773.L - news) gas supply from Norway to Britain fell to 64 mcm/day from 75 mcm/day on Wednesday, moving back into line with levels seen earlier in the week. * Average temperatures in the United Kingdom are forecast to dip from Sept. 15 to lows of 10.5 degrees Celsius for several days, according to meteorological data on Thomson Reuters (Dusseldorf: TOC.DU - news) . * The Aldbrough mid-range gas storage facility experienced a full outage on Thursday which is expected to last until 1700 GMT. * The October gas contract was down 0.25 pence at 45.50 pence per therm. * The Nord Stream gas pipeline pumping gas from Russia to Germany along the Baltic seabed is scheduled to undergo planned maintenance from Sept. 11-22, tightening supplies into northwest Europe. * The day-ahead gas price at the Dutch TTF hub fell 0.15 euro to 16.85 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). * The benchmark Dec (Shanghai: 600875.SS - news) -17 EU carbon contract rose 0.02 euro to 6.72 euros a tonne.
