UK to launch new 10-year gilt via auction in March 2017 - DMO
LONDON, Dec (Shanghai: 600875.SS - news) 2 (Reuters) - Britain will start selling a new 10-year government bond via auction in March and hold syndicated sales of a conventional gilt with a maturity of more than 40 years and a long-dated index-linked bond, the country's debt agency said on Friday.
The UK Debt Management Office said it would hold 14 gilt auctions and two syndications between January and March, starting with the auction on Jan. 5 of the 1.75 percent 2037 gilt on Jan. 5, which was first sold on Nov. 9.
The auction schedule also includes a new July 2027 bond on March 14.
The DMO also said that from April 2017 it would set coupons for new conventional gilts in increments of 0.125 percent, replacing the previous 0.25 percent increments.
