Rising boxing star Travell Mazion died Wednesday at 24 years old.

Golden Boy Promotions confirmed the news on Thursday.

“We at Golden Boy are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Travel Mazion,” a statement reads. “He was a kind, charismatic young man who lit up every room he walked into and brought excitement to fans inside the ring. We send our heartfelt prayers and thoughts to his family. May he R.I.P.”

Mazion died in a car crash outside his hometown of Austin, Texas, on Wednesday evening, Boxing Scene reports. One other person died and two others were injured in the collision, according to the report.

His promoter Oscar De La Hoya expressed his grief on Twitter on Thursday.

Mazion never lost

Mazion, nicknamed “Black Magic,” was 17-0 with 13 knockouts, nine of which came in the first round.

His most recent victory was a knockout of Fernando Castaneda with a body shot 58 seconds into the first round on Jan. 11 to secure the WBC-NABF super welterweight title.

Mazion conducted his ring walk without using music as a tribute to victims of gun violence.

He would have turned 25 on July 24.
