Union tells Shell no automatic extension refinery contract -sources

HOUSTON, Jan 18 (Reuters) - Negotiators for the United (Shenzhen: 000925.SZ - news) Steelworkers union (USW) on Friday rejected a proposal by representatives of Royal Dutch Shell Plc (LSE: 0LN9.L - news) for an automatic extension of the national refinery workers' contract beyond its Feb. 1 expiration date, sources familiar with the talks said.
