ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., October 22, 2021--(BUSINESS WIRE)--United Insurance Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: UIHC) (UPC Insurance or the Company), a property and casualty insurance holding company, today announced estimated current year catastrophe losses incurred for the third quarter ending September 30, 2021, of approximately $37 million before income taxes (approximately $29 million after tax), net of expected reinsurance recoveries. The Company’s estimated net catastrophe losses includes $27 million as of August 31, 2021, plus an additional $10 million for claims from new events including Hurricane Nicholas and re-estimation of other PCS events incurred during 2021.
