Yahoo Finance This Is Us final season won't air this year
This Is Us hasn't finished airing its fifth season yet, but we've already learned that there will be a sixth season and that it will be the show's last.
Now we've learned a little bit more about how the series will air, and it's a bit of good and a bit of bad.
As reported by TVLine, season 6 won't start airing on American network NBC until early 2022. That's the bad part.

The good part is that because the season wont be premiering until 'midseason', it means that it won't be going on a break and so will air (mostly) uninterrupted.
The publication quotes NBC's Chairman of Entertainment Susan Rovner as saying: "Obviously because of COVID this year, [This Is Us'] schedule has been on-and-off, and we want to honour the fans by making sure have the best viewing experience possible.
"By putting it at midseason, we'll have the least interruptions possible [and we] think it'll be a great event for the fans to enjoy this incredible show."

After season 5 was reduced to 16 episodes because of the pandemic, season 6 will go back to having 18 episodes.
This Is Us will premiere its season 5 finale on May 25, 2021 on NBC at a special 10pm ET timeslot. Amazon Prime Video carries the show in the UK.
