US WCoast Products-L.A. gasoline steady on demand

HOUSTON, Oct (KOSDAQ: 039200.KQ - news) 10 (Reuters) - California gasoline's differential was steady in the Los Angeles wholesale market on Thursday as demand was seen higher in the coming weeks, traders said.

October-delivery CARBOB gasoline sold at 16 cents a gallon over November NYMEX RBOB gasoline in L.A. In the San Francisco Bay market, October CARBOB was tied with the L.A. price.

CARBOB gasoline's formula is set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) at a tighter standard for preventing smog than gasoline authorized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The gasoline, like all made in the United States, is blended with ethanol.

In the Portland, Oregon, market, gasoline strengthened 8.5 cents to a discount of 4.5 cents a gallon under November NYMEX RBOB.
