Usain Bolt welcomes twin boys

Olympic icon Usain Bolt has become a father to twins.

The record-breaking Jamaican athlete, who retired from the track in 2017, surprised fans on Father's Day on Sunday as he introduced the latest additions to his family - sons Saint Leo and Thunder - on Instagram.

He posted a professional family photoshoot featuring himself, girlfriend Kasi Bennett, their daughter Olympia Lightning, who was born in May last year, and the newborns laying beside them in wicker baskets, wrapped in white blankets.

In the caption, he simply listed his children's names and added a lightning bolt emoji next to each of them. Saint Leo is also Bolt's middle name.

Bolt and Bennett kept the twins a secret until Sunday, with neither of them announcing her pregnancy. They have yet to reveal exactly when the boys were born.

Bennett also shared a few snaps from the photoshoot and honoured her man to celebrate Father's Day.

"Happy Father's Day to my forever love! @usainbolt," she wrote. "You are the rock of this family and the greatest daddy to our little ones. We love you world without end (sic)!"

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist still holds the world records for the 100m and 200m sprint. After dabbling in soccer, he retired from sports altogether in 2019.
