Valentino appoints Alessandro Beretta new CEO Europe

MILANO (Reuters) - Italian luxury group Valentino said on Monday it had tapped Alessandro Beretta as head of its European operations in a push to further expand its business in the region, both for its retail and wholesale channels.

Beretta, who started his career at Procter&Gamble before moving to Nike as partner Partner Management Director Southern Europe, will report to Laurent Bergamo, Valentino's Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Brazil.

Since Chief Executive Jacopo Venutrini joined Valentino in mid-2020, when the coronavirus pandemic was biting the entire luxury industry, the fashion house, founded in 1960 by Valentino Garavani and controlled by Qatari investment vehicle Mayhoola, has revamped its organisation and called in new managers.

The group's revenue totalled 1.23 billion euros last year, 3% higher than the pre-pandemic levels of 2019.
