Vans and Disney debut 'Nightmare Before Christmas' footwear and apparel collection
For more than two decades, Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” has been a Halloween staple. To commemorate the film, the folks at Vans (VFC) and Disney (DIS) collaborated on a 10-piece footwear and apparel collection.
The entire collection is as colorful and vibrant as the 1993 classic. Fans of Jack Skellington can wear a pair of Vans Sk8-Hi Jack’s Lament, which retails for $75 and depicts the Pumpkin King cliffside, in a nod to one of the film’s most iconic scenes.
The spooky seamstress Sally also gets a shoe of her own in what is perhaps the most unique offering in the collection. Priced at $85, the Vans Era Stacked gets the Sally Patchwork treatment. The ComfyCush Authentic comes in a neutral black-and-white tone and features many of the film’s iconic characters layered on a checkerboard backdrop.
If depictions of ghouls, ghosts, and goblins were not enough to tickle kids’ funny bones, the glow-in-the-dark elements featured on many of the shoes and clothing in the collection might. The Pumpkin King’s ghostly suit, including a cat and batwing appliqué, appears on the classic Vans slip on as well.
Vans has proven that it knows how to cater to the younger demographic. According to Piper Jaffray’s “Fall 2019 Taking Stock with Teens Survey,” Vans is the the No. 2 favorite brand among teens, coming in second only to Nike.
“The Nightmare Before Christmas” collection released on October 4 and is available on Vans website.
