Baking is a swell way to relax – especially when you have more time on your hands than you know what to do with. Yeah cheers, Lockdown Part III…

But there’s one fiddly, awkward part of baking that's enough to make you want to throw your cake tin out the window.

Yup, lining a cake tin is one of the most stressful things known to man.

How to line a cake tin is one of life’s great mysteries, but the good news is, this wonderful woman is here with a TikTok hack that will change the way you bake forever.

@monmackfood has shared a video on social media platform TikTok of her lining a cake tin, and the way she does it is so satisfying, and quite frankly, zen-like.

She simply takes a piece of square baking paper and folds it a few times to make a concertina. She then measures it from the centre of the cake tin to the edge, and cuts it down to size. After unfolding the paper, it fits in that cake tin like a parchment paper glove.

We told you it was satisfying.

After sharing the video, @monmackfood was asked how she dealt with lining square cake tins as well as loaf tins, and of course she had genius ways of combatting these conundrums too.

Now go forth and line those tins, bakers!
