Walmart (WMT) Dips More Than Broader Markets: What You Should Know

In the latest trading session, Walmart (WMT) closed at $140.68, marking a -0.73% move from the previous day. This move lagged the S&P 500's daily loss of 0.61%. At the same time, the Dow lost 0.1%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.67%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the world's largest retailer had lost 3.45% over the past month. This has lagged the Retail-Wholesale sector's gain of 10.67% and the S&P 500's gain of 8.32% in that time.

Walmart will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release, which is expected to be February 21, 2023. The company is expected to report EPS of $1.50, down 1.96% from the prior-year quarter.
