From Harper's BAZAAR

Yesterday, the House of Dior swapped the catwalks of Paris for a Tuscan castle as it revealed its spring/summer 2021 couture collection via a beautiful fashion film, which was shot by Italian director Matteo Garrone.

The collection explored and celebrated the the fascinating universe of the divinatory arts and, within this, recreated one of Christian Dior's most iconic designs, the Miss Dior dress, in gold.

The design features a mini corset-style bra and, underneath, a dress entirely covered with flowers on a lattice base, which are all hand stitched and attached via a painstakingly precise process.

As explained by a designer who works in the atelier in the exclusive video above, this technique is the epitome of haute couture with the days and days of work that goes into creating just one dress.

"We're not even talking hundreds of hours – it's excessively precise and delicate; it's haute couture," he says.

Meanwhile, head here to see more highlights from Dior's dreamy couture collection, and catch up with the rest of the shows, which are being revealed digitally throughout the week, in lieu of a normal scheduled catwalk calendar as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
