Watch Thorgy Thor make over her drag daughter and fellow fashion clown

On this episode of Dragged, host Thorgy Thor (@thorgythor) helps her own “drag daughter,” Amanda, embrace her “fashion clown” aesthetic by helping shape her unique drag persona, Maya Clown.

Amanda is a self-described “maximalist in all things in life,” with a passion for costumes, wigs, and “anything else” that Thorgy stands for! Amanda wants to perform in drag because she’s enticed by the confidence that drag performers give off. “It’s all about serving a look and having a moment,” she says.

Amanda loves dressing up and performing, whether she’s performing in a sketch comedy show or simply going all out for Halloween. Sensing that the two have similar energies, Thorgy is looking forward to getting Amanda into a “ridiculous outfit,” which excites Amanda greatly.

First up, makeup artist and stylist, Blue, picks out an over-the-top rainbow dress (which Thorgy points out resembles a shower loofah) that perfectly suits Amanda’s “fashion clown” aesthetic.

Moving on to makeup, glam artist Elle LC gives Amanda a makeup look that’s equal parts dramatic and fun, with oversized lashes and full lips. The glam makes Amanda feel “confident and beautiful,” and both her and Thorgy can’t wait for the transformation to continue!

When it comes time to select a drag name, Amanda goes with Maya Clown, playing on the existential question, “Am I a clown?” With her name and glam ready to rock, Maya Clown is nearly ready for the world!

Maya Clown’s completed look features the rainbow “loofah” dress, yellow heels, and a magnificent red wig. “I feel incredible,” says Amanda, stepping out as Maya Clown for the first time. “I feel like a Pride float. I feel like a planet.”

For Thorgy, this is one of her favorite Dragged makeovers that she’s ever done, because she sees herself in Amanda. “I just want to make you proud,” responds Amanda. Amazing things can happen when two fashion clowns unite!
