Watch: Trailer for HBO documentary 'Tiger' teases Tiger Woods' rise, epic fall, comeback

The trend of documentaries about talented but controversial athletes continues on. First it was “The Last Dance,” and now Tiger Woods is getting his turn with HBO’s two-part documentary “Tiger.”

HBO released the trailer for “Tiger” on Tuesday, which goes in-depth on Woods’ rise, fall and eventual comeback after years of health problems. One major difference between “Tiger” and “The Last Dance” is noticeable early on: while Michael Jordan was involved with “The Last Dance,” it doesn’t appear that Woods had any involvement in “Tiger.”

While there are no interviews with Woods, his mother, or his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, the documentary features never-before-seen footage and interviews with other figures in Woods’ life, including his former caddy Steve Williams, his father’s friend and biographer Pete McDaniels and Diana Parr, who is called Woods’ “first true love” in the press release. Plus, for the first time ever, Rachel Uchitel sits down for an interview about her role in the scandal that changed the way the world looked at Woods.

Part I of “Tiger” will premiere on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. ET, and Part II will premiere on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 9 p.m. ET.
