West Ham returned from the international break to make it consecutive wins after Sebastien Haller’s thunderous strike claimed all three points at Sheffield United.
With Michail Antonio still not fit to return from a hamstring problem, the newly declared Ivory Coast international took his chance to finally make a statement by scoring a fine winner at Bramall Lane.
Lukasz Fabianski impressed in goal, though was fortunate when Blades striker Ollie McBurnie thumped the crossbar when racing through on goal.
Here is how the West Ham players rated...
Lukasz Fabianski 7
One of his best displays for a long time, certainly this season. Saved superbly from McBurnie in the first half.
Fabian Balbuena 6
Strong showing having only arrived back from international dirty in South America late on Thursday night.
Angelo Ogbonna 6
Caught out by McBurnie on a couple of occasions but recovered to calm things down at the back and keep another vital clean sheet.
Aaron Cresswell 7
Continues to excel on the left of a back three and is always dangerous with the ball at his feet and West Ham shirts running ahead of him.
Vladimir Coufal 7
Continues to look as if he’s been a Premier League player his entire career and is an increasing threat in the final third.
Declan Rice 8, star man
Leading by example in the middle once more, hardly ever caught out of position and always on hand to keep West Ham on the front foot with a challenge in the middle. Influence on attacking play continues to grow too.
Tomas Soucek 7
Forming a fantastic partnership with Rice in the middle, the pair providing the platform for those ahead to cause trouble. Workrate astounding again, should have scored in the first half.
Arthur Masuaku 6
Grew in confidence after a shaky start defensively and enjoyed an entertaining battle with George Baldock throughout the afternoon.
Jarrod Bowen 7
A constant pain for Sheffield United’s defenders and played a vital role in getting the hosts on the back foot for Haller’s goal. Should take less time over chances in the box.
Pablo Fornals 6
Worked hard down the left once more, dawdled over the ball when Haller was in acres to score a second and wasted a good chance.
Struggled to get involved for much of the first half but should have had an assist when he nodded down for Soucek. Stayed more central in the second half and reaped the benefits with a thunderous strike to open the scoring.
Manuel Lanzini 6
Brought some late spark after replacing Fornals late on down the left hand side, slowly getting back to his old self.
Mark Noble N/A
