Weymouth driver without insurance has Mercedes seized by police
The driver of a car in Weymouth has had his car seized and issued a court summons for not having insurance.
The motorist was stopped on the A354 Relief Road in Weymouth this morning, Monday, March 27.
Police say that the driver believed that because they had insurance for a Ford Fiesta, they were covered to drive a Mercedes Benz S-Class.
The car has been seized and the driver has been issued a court summons.
Weymouth & Portland police said: “This morning officers from Weymouth and Portland NPT stopped this car on the A354 Relief Road.
“The driver believed incorrectly that their insurance via a Ford Fiesta in turn covered them to drive a Mercedes Benz S-Class.
“This was not the case.
“The driver was given a summons to court from the roadside.”
