Whatsapp voice calls for iOS in a "couple weeks"

LONDON (ShareCast) - WhatsApp CEO Brian Actor announced on Thursday at Facebook (NasdaqGS: FB - news) 's F8 Developer's conference in San Francisco that WhatsApp's voice call feature will soon be available for Apple (NasdaqGS: AAPL - news) users of the iOS system Actor confessed that the company had spent the last year refining the voice calling function before launching it. Nevertheless, the official launch date has yet to be confirmed.

On the other hand, some Android users will be shortly invited to use this feature, after the company decided to withdraw its voice call service, which was available for just a few hours some weeks ago, as it failed to work for most people.

According to the company's plans, those users who installed the latest version of Whatsapp on their Android phone and received a voice call would automatically be invited to use the service.
