Selling Sunset is back for its sixth season and if you’re anything like us, you’ve watched the entire thing and are hooked on all the drama, especially between Jason Oppenheim and Chrishell Stause.
The pair dated for a few months and despite both being in new relationships, their breakup is a hot topic for this series of the Netflix reality series. So, why did Chrishell and Jason split up? Here’s everything you need to know. Thank us later!
Why did Jason and Chrishell break up?
After breaking the internet with the news that they were dating and being together for around five months, Chrishell and Jason split up in December 2021.
In their breakup announcements on Instagram, they both wrote separately that it was because she wanted children and he wasn’t sure. "We have different wants regarding a family," he wrote on Instagram at the time.
Chrishell said in a now deleted post: "Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family not ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward.
"I very much one day hope to have a family and decisions I make at this point are with that goal in mind,” she added.
On season five of the show, Chrishell spoke about the breakup. “He just told me that he doesn't want to have a kid, and so as much as this hurts me to say, I've been clear with him about what that would mean, so we are done. We broke up.”
But, in season six, the exes were able to become friends with Jason now in a relationship with model Marie-Lou Nuerk and Chrishell married to musician G Flip. We’re so glad they were able to work things out!
