Yahoo Finance Woman Accused of Stealing Nancy Pelosi's Laptop, Trying to Sell It to Russian Intelligence Agency

A Pennsylvania woman wanted by federal authorities for allegedly stealing a laptop belonging to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has turned herself in.
Riley Williams, 22, remains in custody after surrendering to authorities Monday evening.
The Harrisburg woman was arrested in central Pennsylvania. She allegedly fled the apartment she shares with her mother after learning she was wanted by investigators.
Williams has been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority as well as violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Williams has yet to enter pleas to those charges. However, she is scheduled to appear in federal court in Harrisburg Tuesday for arraignment, and will likely be asked to plead at that time.

Williams can be seen in video shot in Washington, D.C., both during the pro-Donald Trump rally and the ensuing insurrection that breached the Capitol.
According to the criminal complaint against her, authorities allege she helped coordinate the violence at the Capitol and that she directed a mob up the steps of the building and inside.
Authorities learned who Williams was after an ex-boyfriend contacted them, according to the complaint.
He allegedly told investigators that Williams had taken a computer from Pelosi's office, and "intended to sell the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia's foreign intelligence service."

PEOPLE was unable to reach Williams' mother for comment.

It was unclear Tuesday if she was represented by a lawyer who could address the allegations on her behalf.

Dozens of people have been arrested in the wake of the violence at the Capitol, which claimed the lives of five people, including U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick.
The Trump-supporting mob, incited by the President's baseless claims that the election had been stolen from him, breached the building while lawmakers gathered to count the Electoral College votes certifying President-elect Joe Biden's win.
Security in and around the Capitol has been enhanced in anticipation of Biden's impending inauguration.
