Woman attempts 65-foot high dive in heart-stopping footage: ‘Oh my gosh, I’m shaking’

Molly Carson is a high diver with Team Canada. As a body positivity advocate, she’s also founder of the BraveGang community, an online community that shares unique stories of courage.

The athlete has 1.7 million TikTok followers. Her account likely blew up in January when she promised to release a point-of-view (POV) video where she dives from 20 meters (65 feet) high — but only if she hit 1 million followers on TikTok.

“‘Oh my gosh, I’m shaking,” one user wrote in anticipation of the big jump.

After hitting the 1 million milestone, Carlson finally dropped the anxiety-inducing video.

The diver climbed atop the high platform, gave a glimpse of the blue pool below, then dove straight in. Carlson hit the water surprisingly quick and before you could catch a breath the camera was entirely submerged.

“I breathed and she was already in the water,” one user commented.

“I seriously just held my breath,” someone said.

Carlson hails from Thunder Bay, Ontario and has dreamed of being an Olympian since she was 4 years old. She is also using her online community to inspire others.

“The BraveGang started as I wanted to incorporate engagement with my followers to embrace that bravery is within everyone,” Carson told in The Know. “They watch me jump off 20 meters for a living which very few people do in the world. I wanted to hear their brave stories and channel our gang’s mottos: Bravery is Beautiful, and bravery comes in all shapes and sizes:butterfly: I am so inspired every day by the thousands of stories I receive. They motivate me to keep going in such an insane sport.”
