Yahoo Finance Woman ranks landlord's 'random' reasons for keeping security deposit: '[This] has me in tears'
A woman can’t believe all her landlord’s bizarre reasons for refusing to give back her security deposit.

One TikToker, @matildaaahh2001, was stunned when she learned why she wouldn’t be getting her deposit back. Fortunately, she seemed to have a sense of humor about the matter. Her hilarious commentary racked up 1.7 million views.

“Rating the reasons we’re not getting our full deposit back,” she said. “For anyone wondering they took £210 [about $298] for all this damage.”
The renter, who resides in the U.K., then ranked the ridiculous reasons on a scale of 1 to 10.
“A single pea in the freezer, 6 out of 10. Must have been hard to clean that up,” she wrote in the caption. “Someone left a Febreze bottle, 4 out of 10. Maybe they didn’t like the smell.”
She showed photos of the lone pea in an empty freezer and a bottle of Febreze on the floor.
“The dehumidifier that belongs to them that they didn’t pick up all year, 7 out of 10. You’re right, that’s our fault babes,” she joked. “This random bit of paper on the floor, 9 out of 10. Must have needed a whole cleaning crew to sort that out.”
The tiny “bit of paper” looked so small that most people wouldn’t even notice it. Meanwhile, the final photo the landlord provided was so blurry and unclear that the TikToker didn’t even know what it was and therefore gave no rating.
“I hope you appeal it and get your money back,” one user wrote.
“Landlords are leeches,” another said.
“The singular pea has me in tears,” a user commented.
