Rachel (@rachdawg3) is a TikToker who was adopted as a baby. In a viral video that accrued more than 13 million views, Rachel shared what happened when she reached out to her biological mother for the first time at the age of 17. In the emotional video, Rachel shares how she and her mom connected, and the amazing gifts her mom gave her!

The video begins with a shot of Rachel sitting in her home. A caption reads, “17-year-old me: ‘I think I’m gonna find my bio mom…’”
In another caption, Rachel explains that she searched for her mom’s name on Facebook and found her! After seeing her mom’s photos, Rachel was immediately sure she had the right person.
Rachel reached out to her mom and nervously explained the situation. Her mom was immediately overjoyed to hear from her, writing, “I know exactly who you are. I have thought of you every single day for the last 17 (almost 18!) years, and I would love nothing more than to talk with you.”
After messaging back and forth for 9 months, Rachel and her mom finally met in person. The video shows a photo of Rachel and her mom having lunch together for the very first time. Then, the video cuts to a photo of Rachel opening a gift from her mom.

Inside the box, Rachel discovers letters her mom wrote to her on her birthday every year, as well as baby clothes, photos, and a journal. On the first page of the journal, Rachel’s mom has written, “For Rachell Ann Correll, my daughter.”
In the journal, Rachel’s mom explains how she made the decision to give Rachel up for adoption. “Yesterday was the day I decided to make the best choice I can for you,” Rachel’s mom writes. “I love you so much.”
The video ends with a photo montage of Rachel’s bio mom and dad together as teenagers. “I want you to see that we loved each other,” Rachel’s mom writes in the journal. “And you are a product of that love.”
Viewers couldn’t get enough of the heartwarming reunion between bio mom and daughter!

Rachel’s story certainly shows how much love a biological parent can feel for their child, even from afar!
