Yahoo Finance Woman wins over TikTok with her intricate bento box lunches
A woman has over 3 million TikTok followers who tune in to see what lunch she’ll be making next for her husband.
Liza Stian spends up to an hour a day packing elaborate, vibrant meals made for her husband’s bento box. The 23-year-old gets extra points for the presentation. With heart-shaped pizzas, bear-shaped rice balls and burgers and San Rio-inspired meals, Stian definitely makes lunch something to look forward to.
“It can take as little as 20 minutes or as long as one hour to pack one lunch. It depends on the dish complexity,” Stian told the Mirror.
The wife from San Francisco usually adds prepared snacks like sliced apples, cucumbers, tomatoes or pieces of mozzarella. Her meals typically consist of a protein and a grain, like pasta, noodles or rice.
“My husband and I were both surprised and delighted to discover that so many people showed interest in my videos,” Stian told The Mirror.
Stian takes inspiration from Asian, Mexican and Eastern European cuisine. She shops at a local Japanese shop to get her interesting utensils, rice molds and cookie cutters.
“All the positive comments that I get propel me to continue making more content,” Stian told The Mirror. “While constructive criticism helps me to grow and improve the overall quality.”
