Working capital

The amount of cash a company has available for its day-to-day operations which gives an indication of its short-term financial health. It is calculated by subtracting a company’s current liabilities from its current assets. A negative working capital could suggest problems paying its suppliers and creditors. Equally, declining levels of working capital over a longer period could indicate falling efficiency levels or more serious financial problems.
