'X' marks the spot: Dez Bryant scores first TD in more than 1,100 days

Dez Bryant’s comeback has been a fun, unexpected story. It added another chapter in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bryant scored his first touchdown in more than three years, giving Baltimore a 26-0 lead. It would eventually cruise to a 40-14 victory.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson bought time in the pocket and waited for Bryant to uncover before hitting him with an 11-yard strike. Bryant then threw up his patented “X” sign in celebration, something we haven’t seen in seemingly forever.

Bryant’s last TD was on Dec. 10, 2017 against the New York Giants, which was 1,106 days ago. That score came when Bryant was with the Dallas Cowboys, of course.

Jason Garrett was Dallas’ coach. Eli Manning was the Giants’ QB. A lot has changed since then.

Bryant is playing in his fourth game this season since signing with the Ravens. He had a four-catch effort against the Titans in Week 11 but was held without a catch in his other two games with the team.

Bryant’s comeback had been slowed by his inclusion on the COVID-19 list, including his late scratch against his former Cowboys squad.
