XL Group up sharply, Qualcomm shares off, and Boston Scientific shares gaining

Here are the charts of the day for Monday March 5, 2018.

XL Group (XL): Shares are up sharply. French insurance company AXA is in a deal to buy the New York– listed insurance company for $15.3 billion. AXA calls it a major leap forward for its strategic journey, saying the deal creates the world’s largest property and casualty commercial platform.

Qualcomm (QCOM): Shares are off after a US national security panel asked Qualcomm to delay its annual meeting to give the government more time to review Broadcom’s proposed takeover. Broadcom claims the news comes after Qualcomm secretly encouraged an investigation into the proposed $117 billion buyout deal.

Boston Scientific (BSX): Shares are gaining after the medical technology company announced it is buying EMcision, a privately held company. The deal expands Boston Scientific’s endoscopy portfolio. The company says it will be immaterial to earnings in 2018 and accretive thereafter. No deal terms were released.
