Yoghurts Recalled Over Rubber Contamination

Yoghurts have been recalled from five British supermarkets over fears they could contain pieces of rubber.

Yeo Valley, which manufactured the supermarket-branded yoghurts, has told Asda, Co-operative, Sainsbury (Amsterdam: SJ6.AS - news) 's, Tesco (Xetra: 852647 - news) and Waitrose to remove some of the products.

The Food Standards Agency said they posed a "possible risk to health".

In a statement, Yeo Valley said: "We can confirm that a piece of rubber was found in a fruit conserve supplied by one of our suppliers. The supplier has identified the cause and has identified all fruit conserves, an ingredient used in fruit yogurts, that may be affected.
