Top 5 ROE Stocks to Buy as U.S.-Mexico Trade Concerns Abate

The U.S. equity markets extended their recent bull run as the Trump administration dropped its plans to impose 5% tariff on all Mexican goods amid row over migration deal. With the Mexican government promising to step up measures in order to stem the flow of illegal immigrants to the United States, the markets received a shot in the arm as trade concerns between the two neighboring countries abated. However, the Sino-U.S. trade war continued to brew with no visible respite in the near term as both countries remained firm in their positions.

As investors employ a wait-and-see approach in a classic example of “backing and filling” in the market, they can benefit from ‘cash cow’ stocks that garner higher returns.

However, singling out cash-rich stocks alone does not make for a solid investment proposition unless these are backed by attractive efficiency ratios, like return on equity (ROE).  A high ROE ensures that the company is reinvesting its cash at a high rate of return.
