Zambia's kwacha hits two-week high as exporters sell dollars to meet local payments

LUSAKA (Reuters) - Zambia's kwacha climbed to its strongest in more than two weeks or as much as 1.3 percent against the dollar on Monday, as exporters offloaded the greenback to make month-end payments, traders said. The kwacha touched a session high of 10.7100/dollar according to Thomson Reuters data. "Exporters are in the market converting dollars to kwacha to meet their month-end obligations such as salaries," a trader at a Lusaka commercial bank said.
