Zlatan Ibrahimovic To Join Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic To Join Manchester United

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced that he is joining Manchester United.

The 34-year-old revealed the move on social media, and will become Jose Mourinho's second signing of the summer.

Ibrahimovic left Paris St Germain after a hugely successful four years, scoring 38 league goals in his last season with the club.

He posted on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook: "Time to let the world know. My next destination is Manchester United."

The Swede retired from international duty following his country's exit from Euro 2016, but remains one of of the world's most high-profile footballers.

United have yet to confirm the move, which has long been rumoured, and it is thought he will have to pass a medical next week.

The enigmatic striker revealed weeks ago that he knew where he would be playing next season, but had refused to name a club.

Ibrahimovic previously enjoyed a good relationship with Mourinho during a spell at Inter Milan, and is expected to reunite with the Portugese coach on a short-term deal.

It will be the eighth club of the forward's illustrious career, which started at Malmo in 1999.

Ibrahimovic has also played for Ajax, Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan, but has never featured in the Premier League.

Manchester United failed to qualify for the Champions League after a fifth-placed league finish last season.

The Red Devils replaced Louis Van Gaal with the former Chelsea manager in May, after a largely unsuccessful three-year spell with the Dutchman in charge.

Mourinho asked fans in his first Old Trafford interview to "forget" the past three seasons, and has also signed promising young centre back Eric Bailly as he hopes to revive the Manchester club's fortunes.
