A zombie-obsessed bride had her ‘dream wedding’ dedicated to The Walking Dead

A horror-obsessed bride had a The Walking Dead themed wedding - which even featured a zombie chasing her down the aisle.

Amanda Bleker, 35, and Terry, 37, tied the knot on the show's 10-year anniversary and the ceremony was held in the fictional town which appeared in season three.

The big day featured a zombie extra from the AMC Studios show which followed them down the aisle - before being killed by a Rick Grimes impersonator.

Terry, who serves in the US military, isn't even a big fan of the show, but wife Amanda, a waitress said it was her perfect day.

The bride from Dadeville, Alabama, US, said: "Neither of us wanted a traditional white wedding, so we said 'screw tradition' and ditched the church bells.

"I've been the hugest fan of The Walking Dead since it came out in 2010 so it was perfect for me.

"I took inspiration from other people, but we wanted the wedding to be unique so we really tried to make it our own.

"Everything went absolutely perfectly, and the highlight was being chased by a zombie before Rick Grimes stepped in.

"I love people's reactions when I tell them I had a The Walking Dead wedding - their jaws drop every time!"

Amanda and Terry began dating in 2016 - and for their one-year anniversary Amanda was taken to see the season eight premier of the show.

She's been hooked from the very first episode in 2010, and has tattoos dedicated to the show.

"I just love it so much - I can honestly say that show has saved my life," she said.

"It was always able to cheer me up and accompanied me through some dark times such as when I experienced the death of a close friend."

Their wedding took place in the show's fictional town of Woodbury, in Senoia, Georgia, and the gazebo where the couple said their vows featured in season three.

They tied the knot on October 31 2020 - the show's 10-year anniversary.

Rick Grimes cosplayer Michael Wilson, 56, from Covington in Georgia, took part, as did Jose Sanchez, a zombie from the real show.

Michael, who works at Home Depot, said he is often asked to take pictures with customers due to his uncanny resemblance to actor Andrew Lincoln.

He explained: "I was thrilled when Amanda and Terry asked me to be a part of their wedding.

"I've been attending The Walking Dead conventions for several years since people started pointing out my likeness to Rick, but a wedding is always special."

Amanda added: "I think I came up with the idea of us being chased down the train tracks - it worked out so well, but I was trying not to giggle while we were walking down.

"It's not for everyone, but the wedding turned out exactly how I wanted and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

"It was my dream wedding!"
