11 commuter towns where you can save £480,000 on a house 60 minutes outside London

Commuters prepared to travel just an hour to work in London could save themselves big, big money on a property.

According to research by Lloyds Bank, homes in commuter towns 60-minutes or so outside of zone 1 and 2 are, on average, £480,000 cheaper than those in central London.

It found that property in towns located between 41 and 60 minutes away from the capital, including Windsor, Oxford, Peterborough, Gravesend, and Colchester, cost an average £316,000 – that’s 60% cheaper.
