A mansion passed through the same family for 400 years is up for sale

A 15th century Cornish mansion that stayed in the same family for more than 400 years has gone on the market – for £3 million.

Harlyn House, near Padstow, sits in five acres of the land and boasts spectacular views over Constantine Bay. The 31-room pile has only been owned by three different families, most recently changing hands in 1947.

Estate agents Lillicrap Chilcott said: “This is among the very best coastal settings anywhere in Cornwall, with some of the county’s most celebrated beaches literally ‘on the doorstep’.”
