See all the impressive Chelsea in Bloom 2022 installations
Chelsea in Bloom is an annual floral exhibition with the most spectacular, Instagrammable floral displays on the streets of Chelsea – and best of all, it's free.
The event is produced by Cadogan, in association with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), and extends the Chelsea Flower Show out into the local area.
This year is a nod to all things British inspired by the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, so from 23rd May you'll see breathtaking floral displays on the streets of SW3, bringing to life the 2022 theme of 'British Icons'.
Over 90 participating shops, hotels and restaurants across the Chelsea neighbourhood, from Sloane Street to the King's Road, will decorate their stores or venues with floral art installations. The displays will be inspired by the characters, symbols and emblems that make up Great Britain and bring London together.
(Dave Benett)All of it! Be immersed in colour and creativity as you walk the pavements of Chelsea. There'll be large-scale central floral installations springing to life, including a 10ft floral Queen's head on Sloane Square by florist Veevers Carter, a Royal coat of arms featuring an enormous lion and unicorn on Sloane Street, and a 12ft Queen's Guard in his sentry box on Pavilion Road by designers All For Love London.
Other highlights include Alice in Wonderland-themed installations on Duke of York Square in partnership with Maison de Fleurs, and a Vivienne Westwood-inspired installation on the King's Road created by florist Early Hours.
(Joanna Briggs Photography)Tour the floral displays at your leisure, but if you want to embrace all that Chelsea in Bloom has to offer, complimentary rickshaw rides and walking tours can be booked too.
The central floral displays will remain until the end of the Jubilee Weekend on Sunday 5th June and passers-by will be able to post their well wishes to the Queen in floral post boxes near Sloane Square.
There are also some coveted awards up for grabs – Best Floral Display, Highly Commended, and the Innovation Award – as well as Gold, Silver, Bronze or Merit Awards to all participants. Winners will be announced on Wednesday 25th May.
